2015 Gleneagles Client Trip

2015 Gleneagles Client Trip

We were again lucky to be able to take a number of good friends and clients with us to Gleneagles for our annual camping out in the glorious rolling hills of Perthshire. The history of our involvement with Gleneagles goes back to the early days of Incentive when we specialised in the maintenance of hotels and we looked after the entire Gleneagles estate as well as the Scotsman and Balmoral Hotels in Edinburgh. We still have many friends at Gleneagles including the Managing Director, Finance Director and Food and Beverage Director, all of whom we worked with prior to buying our time share week at Glenmor which we look forward to using each June.

This year’s group one of visitors was hosted by Jeremy Waud and Bill Pollard and included friends old and new. Gary Yardley of Capco, John Prestwich of CBRE, James Carragher from Land Securities and Kevin Sensier of Capita all made return visits. Tour debutants were Ben Hill of Broadgate Estates and Charles Waud who skilfully was waiting in the wings for a late call up!

The second group of staff and friends was hosted by Martin Reed, Bruce McDonnell and Glenn Wilson. On the client front we welcomed Malcolm Angus from JLL, Chris Denness from Covent Garden, Mark Punton from Dover Harbour Board, and industry friends Lance Flor and Chris Windass. Incidentally some of this team proved their skills in the art of beer pong rather than golf this time around.

The first group witnessed some spirited performances with the Waud’s doing close battle on day one and Charles Waud coming out on top over the combination of Kings and PGA course rounds, winning by five points from Bill Pollard and six points from his father.  Ben Hill can away with the coveted ‘Brown Garter’ in last place, but had the longest laugh winning the sweepstake and accordingly driving south with Scottish notes in his back pocket.

The overall Incentive FM Team Trophy stays in Scotland and returns to Malcolm Angus from the second group, who with 37 points narrowly edged out Glenn Wilson. There is a very strong rumour that Malcom is having a severe handicap review for next year!
